Car Collides With LRT in The Core

Just before 11:30 this evening the Calgary Fire Department responded to the intersection of 6 street and 7 avenue S.W. for reports of a motor vehicle collision involving the LRT. First arriving crews reported a single vehicle that had struck the center car of an Ctrain . Two occupants were trapped inside the car and required extrication using hydraulic extrication equipment . Fire Department personnel quickly extricated the trapped motorists and transferred patient care to on scene Alberta Health Services personnel who transported them to an area hospital.Their injuries were not considered life threatening. As a precaution the occupants of the Ctrain were evacuated by City Transit Police Officers. No other injuries were reported and traffic was temporarily impacted on 6 street S.W. while the car was removed .
