Calgary Fire Responds to Technical Rescue

At approximately 9:00 this morning the Calgary Fire Department responded to a 911 call at the Queen’s Park Cemetery in northwest Calgary. On arrival, crews were met by park staff and directed to an open excavation where a partial collapse occurred and a worker was trapped. The Calgary Fire Department deployed the Technical Rescue Team, and secured the scene to stabilize the excavation and enable extrication of the injured worker.

The worker was safely assessed and stabilized and was removed from the excavation where they were then assessed by on scene AHS personnel. The worker was transferred to hospital in stable condition. Fire crews remain on scene with investigators.
