Calgary Fire Responds to Apartment Fire at University Campus

Just after 2 P.M. this afternoon the  Calgary Fire Department responded to the 3220 block of nth avenue N.W. for a alarm system activation. Upon investigation fire crews found smoke in a hallway of the two story apartment building and began searching for the source of the smoke. It was determined that the smoke was being generated by a  fire in one of the residence.No one was home at the time and the fire was quickly extinguished and confined to the apartment of origin with minimal damage. No injuries have been reported and 5 residents have been temporarily relocated to an adjoining dining facility. Calgary Fire remains on scene ventilating the structure and monitoring air quality prior to allowing residents to return.Fire investigators have begun their investigation and at this time traffic is not being impacted.
