Calgary Fire Extinguishes N.E House Fire

The Calgary Fire Department responded to Martha Meadows Bay just before 4:30 P.M... this afternoon for reports of a house fire. First arriving crews reported a well developed fire in the residence and quickly initiated a aggressive interior fire attack and simultaneous search for occupants. The fire was quickly brought under control and all occupants had left the home prior to arrival of the Calgary Fire Department. One male occupant has subsequently been transported from the scene to an area hospital by Alberta Health Services in non life threatening condition.Fire investigators are on scene conducting a thorough investigation as to what has caused this fire.  The Calgary Fire Department reminds all calgarians to ensure they have working smoke detectors in their residence. Smoke detectors provide early detection and a audible alarm that save lives and reduces the chance of injury in the event of a fire.
