Calgary Fire Department Responds To Two Alarm Fire in Victoria Park

Calgary Firefighters responded to the 300 block of 12th Ave. S.E. at 7:08 am this morning. First arriving crews reported heavy volumes of smoke and fire. Due to the involvement of the fire on arrival, a defensive strategy was employed. This resulted in crews using Aerial master streams and exterior hose lines. Crews were prevented from entering the structure to search for victims until it was deemed safe to enter. 

The weather requires crews to be frequently rotated, to avoid cold related injuries. There are no reports of injuries to the public or crews at this time. The Calgary Police Service is also on scene providing traffic control in the area. 

Investigators and crews will remain on scene throughout the day.
