Calgary Fire Department Responds to Water Rescue Call at Sikome Lake

At approximately 3:55 this afternoon, the Calgary Fire Department responded to a water rescue call at Lake Sikome. The incident involved an inflatable water craft on the lake carrying four adults and two children. At the time of the incident, three adults and one infant entered the water for reasons unknown at this time.  Onlookers on the beach performed an initial rescue of two adults and the infant.  Three Fire Department aquatic units responded to the scene to search for the missing 29 year old man. Aquatic team members continue the search with spotters, line tenders, divers in the water as well as firefighters on water rescue craft.  Alberta Health Services transported the infant to hospital as a precaution.
