Calgary Fire Department Responds To Townhouse Fire

Shortly after 1:00 A.M this morning the Calgary Fire Department responded to the 100 block of Cedardale Crescent South West for reports of a structure fire. First arriving crews found a fire involving a significant portion of  the exterior of a Townhouse and were able to quickly bring the fire under control. A simultaneous primary search of the residence revealed that all occupants had  egressed the building and that the fire had caused little damage to the interior of the home. The female resident of the home was alerted to the fire by a working smoke alarm  and was able to  safely egress with her dog prior to the Fire Departments arrival. The fire was reported by an alert neighbor. No injuries were reported and Fire investigators are currently onscene conducting a investigation into cause.

This fire demonstrates the vital importance of having working smoke alarms installed in your home as the smoke alarm activation played a crtical role in alerting this resident to the danger.
