Calgary Fire crews were called to a multi vehicle collision shortly after 2:30 this afternoon at Barlow Trail and McKnight Blvd N.E. The collision involved six vehicles, one of which came to rest  against another vehicle at a 45 degree angle with the injured driver trapped inside. Firefighters used special tools called 'Rescue 42 Struts' to stabilize the vehicle and safely extricate the driver with hydraulic tools. The male driver was then transferred to EMS for patient care. Northbound Barlow Trail was limited to one lane and southbound Barlow was closed until all of the damaged vehicles could be removed.
