Calgary Fire Department Responds To School Fire In Boiler Room

At approximately 8:00 a.m., fire crews responded to a 911 call reporting smoke in Queen Elizabeth High School. The school alarm was appropriately pulled by the caller to evacuate the school. Upon arrival, fire crews found a small fire in the boiler room. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and commenced ventilating the school. Students and staff were safely staged in school buses and on school grounds until the smoke had been cleared and it was safe to enter. No injuries to school staff or students have been reported and classes now resume as per schedule. The fire is not deemed suspicious and is under investigation.
