Calgary Fire Department Responds to N.W. House Fire

 

 

 

At approximately 2:45 this morning the Calgary Fire Department responded to Sage Bluff Link N.W. for the reports of a house fire. The first arriving crews were met with three houses involved in fire. The commanding officer requested additional resources to deal with the volume of fire and the strong winds that were blowing embers towards other houses in the area, subsequently upgrading the response to a second alarm.The majority of the houses surrounding the fire were under construction and unoccupied. The fire was contained to the three unoccupied house  that were in the final stages of construction. One firefighter was transported by EMS to hospital with a lower leg injury however no other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation and major roadways in the area will not be affected by ongoing firefighting activities at Sage Bluff Link.
