Calgary Fire Department responds to N.E. house fire

The Calgary Fire Department responded to the 200 block of Whitehorn Rd. N.E. tonight at approximately 10:30 for reports a structure fire. The first arriving crews were met with a large volume of smoke coming from the structure. An initial size up was completed and an aggressive interior attack brought the fire under control quickly. Fire damage was limited to the lower level of the home although the remainder of the structure suffered significant smoke damage. The homeowner was assessed by AHS and released. There were no injuries reported and the cause is currently under investigation.
