Calgary Fire Department responds to fourplex fire in Dover

Shortly after midnight, the Calgary Fire Department responded to Doverdale Mews SE for reports of a building fire.  Arriving fire crews found a 2 story fourplex with visible flames spreading across the exterior at the rear of the structure. Fire crews also located a female occupant who had jumped from a second story window of the exposed suite. Fire crews treated the woman for injuries while additional crews attacked the fire from the exterior. Firefighters then entered the structure systematically searching for additional victims and extinguishing hidden fires.  Thankfully no other victims were found.  Firefighters did rescue a pet dog from the affected suite which was treated for smoke inhalation and transported by CPS to the animal hospital. AHS transported the female patient to hospital with minor injuries.  The fire was contained to a single suite but damage was significant.  Flames also spread to an adjacent fourplex causing minor damage to the exterior, electrical meter, and gas meter.  A total of 5 residents have been displaced from one fourplex while the other has been fully reoccupied. Atco, Enmax, and Fire Investigators are on scene.  Traffic in the area is unaffected at this time.
