Calgary Fire Department Responds to Fire in North East 4-Plexm

At approximately 12:40 this afternoon, the Calgary Fire Department responded to reports of a possible fire at a 4-plex in the 6100 block of 4 Ave NE.  Upon arrival fire crews were met with light smoke coming from the second floor of the structure. Firefighters initiated an aggressive interior attack and knocked down the fire in the main floor kitchen and the fire extension on the second floor. The fire and smoke was contained to the unit of origin, not affecting any of the other suites in the complex.  No occupants were reported home at the time of fire department arrival, which was confirmed by fire search teams.   The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
