Calgary Fire Department responds to downtown building fire

At approximately 1:30 this afternoon the Calgary Fire Department was called to the 1200 block of 11Ave SW for reports of a building fire.  Arriving crews found thick black smoke venting from a narrow space between two commercial structures.  Firefighters quickly doused the flames from the rear of the buildings bringing it under control. The fire did manage to spread into a wall of the adjacent structure creating some challenges for fire crews.  However, the hidden fire was eventually located, accessed, and extinguished.  The two buildings were unoccupied at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. Structure damage is minimal. Investigators are currently on scene.
