Calgary Fire Department responds to construction site collapse in north east

Just after 8:30 this morning, fire crews were called to a residential construction site at 31st avenue and 5th street N.E.for reports of a worker who fell approximately 15 feet. On arrival, firefighters found that several framed walls had fallen over in the three story home under construction. Firefighters removed the patient from the site and transferred care to EMS. Fire crews have secured the scene due to the compromised structural integrity of the building. Two construction workers were injured as a result of this incident. The City of Calgary's Safety Response Unit from Development & Building Approvals as well as Occupational Health and Safety have been called to the scene to investigate.
