Calgary Fire Department responds to bedroom fire in Taradale

At approximately 1:30 this afternoon the Calgary Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of Taradale Drive N.E. Firefighters arrived to a single story residence with thick black smoke exiting the rear of the structure. Calgary Fire Department initiated an aggressive interior attack and were able to confine the fire to the bedroom of origin. Five adults were able to self-evacuate and at this time there are no reports of any Injuries. Crews were able to keep water damage to a minimum and high capacity fans were used to evacuate smoke and minimize smoke damage. Local traffic in the area was not affected. Fire crews will remain on scene to monitor hot spots and check for any extension. The fire investigator is on scene and the investigation is ongoing.
