Calgary Fire Department Responds To Apartment Building Fire

At approximately 9:00 a.m. today, the Calgary Fire Department responded to a fire in a high-rise building in the 100 Block of 10 Avenue SW. Upon arrival fire crews observed smoke and flames coming from the 19th floor of the building. Firefighters aggressively attacked the fire and knocked it down. The fire was quickly extinguished. The building was evacuated and no one was injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Traffic is affected in the area between 100 Block SE and 100 Block SW at 10 Avenue.
