Calgary Fire Department Responds to a Residential Fire in the N.W.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. the Calgary Fire Department responded to the 40 block of Coleridge Road N.W. for reports of a building fire.  Upon arrival crews discovered smoke showing from the rear basement area of a single story duplex.  Two adult occupants, a male and a female, from the involved unit had self evacuated prior to the arrival of fire crews.  Two female residents from the upper unit were not home at the time.   All pets, a dog and two cats were safely accounted for.  No injuries were reported.  Damage was moderate and contained to the involved unit.  Residents from both units will not be returning to their homes.  Fire crews retrieved the occupants’ valued personal belongings.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
