Calgary Fire Department responds to a house fire in Penbrooke

At approximately 0600 on this morning, Calgary fire crews were called to a home in the 6000 block of Penbrooke Drive SE for reports of a house fire. When fire crews arrived on scene, smoke and flames could be seen coming from the front of the home.

Firefighters mounted an interior attack and the fire was quickly brought under control thus limiting fire damage to the room of origin. All residents made it out of the house without injury. Firefighters found and removed one dog from the home unijured. All occupants were able to evacuate prior to the Fire Departments arrival, however, one occupant was transported to hospital by AHS with smoke related injuries.

A Calgary Fire Department Fire Investigator and CPS Arson are attending the scene to determine the cause and origin of this fire.
