Calgary Fire Department responding to train derailment

At approximately 5:30 pm today the Calgary Fire Department responded to a report of a train derailment in Alyth Yard just north of 19 avenue and 15 street SE. Currently firefighters are investigating six overturned tanker cars and asking CPS to shut down roads including Blackfoot and 9 avenue. No homes are being evacuated at this time andthe Department will update as the incident continues.
