Calgary Fire Department fights multi garage fire in NE

Calgary Fire Department responds to fire involving multiple properties.

 

At approximately 4:30 this morning the Calgary Fire Department (CFD) responded to reports of a structure fire in 300 block of 30 Avenue NEFire crews arrived to find 2 garages under construction fully involved as well as fences on both sides of the property. Crews quickly worked at extinguishing the fire and protecting the exposed structures surrounding the area. There was minor damage done to the residence which was also under construction and was not occupied. 

9 neighboring residents were temporarily displaced for safety reasons, and no injuries have been reported at the time of this release. Alberta Health Services (AHS) and Calgary Police Services (CPS) were both on scene to assist with the health and safety of the residents and neighbors.

The Calgary Fire Department Fire Investigator is on scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire. ATCO and Enmax are also on scene to manage the utilities attached to the addresses. CFD will remain on scene for fire watch.
