Calgary Fire Department fights kitchen fire on Tarawood Lane N.E.

At approximately 9:45 this morning, Calgary fire crews were called to the 100 block of Tarawood Lane N.E. for reports of a smoke alarm activation in one of four townhouse units in the building. Upon arrival, firefighters smelled smoke and forced entry into the residence. The fire which was limited to the kitchen area, was quickly extinguished by firefighters, limiting damage to that room. Nobody was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. The smoke alarm was heard by a neighbour who made the emergency call to 911. There is some smoke damage to other parts of the home and a Calgary Fire Investigator has been called to the scene.
