Calgary Fire Department fights garage fire in Woodbine

At approximately 10:40 this morning, Calgary fire crews were called to Woodbrook Close SW for a garage fire. The caller indicated he could see smoke coming from the detached garage at the rear of his property. When fire crews arrived, the garage was fully involved and flames were threatening neighbouring houses. Three residents were evacuated from two neighbouring homes as a safety precaution. The garage where the fire originated was completely destroyed as well as moderate fire damage to one home. A neighbouring house also sustained heat damage to the vinyl siding. No injuries were reported as a result of this fire and Calgary Fire Department Fire Investigators are on scene to determine origin and cause.
