CALGARY FIRE DEPARTMENT FIGHTS EARLY MORNING 2 ALARM FIRE IN CITADEL

The Calgary Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at approximately 2:10  this morning. First arriving crews to the 200 block of Citadel Bluff Ct. called a second alarm due to the volume of smoke and fire. Crews evacuated homes on either side of the source home and began a defensive attack to bring the fire under control. The family in the involved home safely evacuated before crews arrived.

Approximately 20 people were displaced for a short period of time while crews ventilated their home and took CO readings. Residents on both side of the involved home are able to return. There were no reports of injuries to homeowners. One cat is missing at this time.

Investigators and crews remain on scene, putting out hot spots, and beginning the investigation. No traffic will be affected in the area.
