Calgary Fire Department Fights Abandoned House Fire

 

At approximately 2:50 p.m. today, the Calgary Fire Department was called to a vacant two story house on the 1600 block of 46th Street N.W. A passerby called 911 upon noticing smoke coming from the house. Heavy smoke was visible when fire crews arrived. Firefighters gained entry to the boarded up home but safety concerns inside the house caused fire crews to exit and fight the fire defensively. The fire was quickly brought under control and the cause is currently under investigation.
