Calgary Fire Department extricates one patient from collision in the southeast

 

Calgary fire crews extricated a male patient just before 3:00 this afternoon after his pickup truck collided with a semi trailer and flatbed at Fairmount Drive and Flint Road S.E. The trapped driver was freed by firefighters using hydraulic extrication tools. The patient was conscious at the time of extrication and was transferred to EMS for transport to hospital. Fire crews set up a perimeter for scene safety and the roads at that intersection have been closed while the Calgary Police Service conducts their investigation. Fire crews are currently still on scene cleaning up vehicle fluids and debris. The driver of the semi trailer was not reported to be injured.
