Calgary Fire Department extricates driver after serious collision on Glenmore Trail S.E.

Just after 3:30 this afternoon, Calgary Fire crews were called to westbound Glenmore Trail S.E., near Blackfoot Trail for a serious motor vehicle collision involving a large truck and an SUV. The collision resulted in significant damage to the SUV and firefighters needed to extricate the male driver using hydraulic extrication tools. Care of the conscious patient was transferred to on scene EMS personnel and he was transported to an area hospital. The driver of the larger truck was not reported to have been injured. Traffic westbound on Glenmore Trail at Blackfoot Trail has been closed completely and is being diverted while the Calgary Police Service conduct their investigation.
