Calgary Fire Department Extricate two Motorists from Collision

Calgary Fire crews  extricated two motorists from a late model sedan that was involved in a collision  this afternoon. Fire crews were called to Spruce Meadows Trail and 24 street S.W.. just before 4:30 this afternoon and found the sedan in the ditch adjacent to Spruce meadows Trail after it had apparently collided with a light duty pickup truck. Both the driver and passenger of the sedan were unable to exit the vehicle and Fire crews used hydraulic extrication equipment to remove both motorists from the vehicle. Patient care was transferred to on scene Alberta Health Services personnel who have subsequently transported them to an area hospital. No other injuries were reported. Spruce Meadows Trail remains closed at this time while the Calgary Police Service conduct their investigation.
