Calgary Fire Department Extricate Two Motorist From Early Morning Collision

Shortly after 5:00 a.m. this morning the Calgary Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision at 36 street and 8 avenue S.E.. A single vehicle had  left the road surface and subsequently impacted a tree at this location. Both the male and a female occupants suffered significant injuries and required extrication from the vehicle. Patient care was transferred to on scene AHS personnel who subsequently transported both to area hospitals. The intersection remains closed while the Calgary Police Service  conduct their investigation. Motorists are reminded to exercise caution when driving on city streets as the fresh layer of snow may hide icy conditions on the road surface.
