Calgary Fire Department Extricate Patient At Rail Crossing

Shortly before 3:30am this morning the Calgary Fire Department responded to 17th avenue and Hubalta road S.E. after a passenger car collided with a train. Crews extricated the driver of the car using Hydraulic extrication equipment and transfered patient care to on scene Alberta Health personnel who subsequently transported to a area hospital. The passenger although shaken was not transported and no other injuries were reported. 17th avenue remains closed at this time while Calgary Police Services and rail authorities conduct their investigation.
