Calgary Fire Department extinguishes house fire in the NE

Shortly before 6:00 pm this evening, the Calgary Fire Department responded to the 200 block of 13 ST NE for reports of a house fire. Upon arrival, fire crews found a single story residential home with smoke venting from rear. Firefighters entered the structure and found the interior to be completely charged with smoke.  A fire was located in a back room on the main floor and extinguished by firefighters.  Fire crews searched the entire structure and confirmed that no one was home at the time of the fire.  No injuries were reported.  The fire investigator is currently on scene. The fire was contained to the room of origin and considered minor.  Traffic in the area is unaffected at this time.
