Calgary Fire Department extinguishes house fire in the NE

Shortly before noon today the Calgary Fire Department responded to the 100 block of Maitland Drive NE for reports of a house fire.  Upon arrival, fire crews found a single story residential home with smoke venting from the roof. Fire crews entered the structure and found the interior to be completely charged with smoke.  A fire was located in a back room on the main floor and extinguished by firefighters.   Fire crews searched the entire structure and confirmed that no one was home at the time of the fire.  No injuries were reported.  The fire investigator is currently on scene. Traffic in the area is unaffected at this time.
