Calgary Fire Department Extinguishes House Fire in south east

At approximately 3:10 this afternoon, the Calgary Fire Department responded to reports of a house fire in the 2500 block of 26^th Street  SE. Upon arrival, flames and smoke were seen coming from the kitchen area of the home. The occupants safely self-evacuated. Fire crews extinguished the fire, searched the premises and saved two pet lizards,. There were no injuries to residents or firefighters on scene. Crews remained on scene searching for and putting out hot spots. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
