Calgary Fire Department extinguishes fire in SW eight story building

Shortly before 5:00 pm Calgary fire crews responded to reports of a building fire at the 300 block of 15th Ave SW. When crews arrived they found smoke from the second up to the seventh floor of the building. Firefighters quickly searched the building evacuating approximately 20 people. The fire was found in the boiler room of the building and firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and removed the smoke from the building. Residents were then allowed back into the building, No injuries to occupants or firefighters were reported and traffic was not effected in the area. Fire investigators remain on scene investigating the cause of the fire.
