Calgary Fire Department Evacuates 8 Due To Damaged Gas Line In South East

 

This afternoon at approximately 3:45 at the 3800 block of 30th Avenue S.E., some construction materials became dislodged and caused damage to a gas line. Fire crews evacuated eight people from two homes as a precaution. Atco Gas was called to the scene to shut of the gas and repair the line. Firefighters monitored the air quality for the buildup of natural gas and ensured the evacuated homes were safe before allowing residents to re-enter. No injuries were reported during this incident.
