Calgary Fire Department Crews Respond To Structure Fire in Penbrooke Meadows
At approximately 7:00 pm this evening, Calgary Fire Department (CFD) crews responded to reports of a structure fire in the 1000 block of Pensdale Crescent SE.
Upon arrival, fire crews faced significant smoke and flame from a travel trailer as well as from an adjacent single family home. Firefighters quickly extended hand lines to control the fire initially from the exterior as well as to protect neighboring exposures. Crews advanced lines into the interior of the home to initiate a search and continue fire attack.
Four residents self-evacuated prior to CFD’s arrival. One dog was accounted for and is in the care of its family.
CPS assisted and provided traffic and crowd control at scene. Atco and Enmax were dispatched and ensured there were no hazards relating to services.
Fire crews including a fire investigator will remain on scene throughout the evening to ensure there is no fire extension and to confirm extinguishment.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
