Calgary Fire Department battles stubborn SE industrial fire.

This evening at approximately 8 o'clock, Calgary Fire Crews responded to reports of a building fire in the 4100 block of 120th Avenue SE. The first responding officer requested additonal resources while en route due to the large amount of smoke and flames visible and arrived on scene to find a large storage structure fully involved with fire. Immediately, large volume water streams were deployed to prevent the fire from spreading and to assist in controlling the fire. Due to the amount of materials in the structure, the deep seated fire it presented, and with a structurally compromised structure, large construction equipment was brought in to safely assist fire crews in reaching the remaining hot spots. 2 Firefighters suffered minor injuries battling the blaze. Crews will remain on scene overnight. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
