Calgary Fire Department aquatics team pulls unconscious man from Lake Chaparral

Just before 7:00 this evening, the Calgary Fire Department aquatics rescue team pulled a man from the water at Lake Chaparral in the city's south east. The man in his mid thirties, had been swimming in the lake when he began to struggle and go under the water. CFD aquatics team members, who were at the lake for planned training exercises, jumped into action, found the submerged man and had him out of the water within minutes. Firefighters then commenced CPR immediately. Patient care was subsequently transferred to an AHS EMS crew upon their arrival at the scene.
