Calgary Fire Crews Respond to Kitchen Fire in Community of Glamorgan
At approximately 1050 pm, Calgary Fire Department (CFD) crews responded to reports of a structure fire in the 5000 block of 45th St SW.
Upon arrival, fire crews noticed smoke showing from a fourplex and quickly gained access and extended hand lines to control and knock down the fire.
One resident from the source suite self-evacuated prior to CFD’s arrival and was assessed by AHS and transported to Rockyview Hospital for precautionary reasons due to smoke exposure. Six other residents from the adjoining three suites also self-evacuated.
The fire is under control at this time. Crews remain on scene and are ventilating the structure and checking for fire extension and hot spots.
A fire investigator is also on scene conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
