Calgary Fire Crews Respond To Kitchen Fire Contained By Sprinkler

 

At approximately 1:00 this afternoon, fire crews were called to a residential high rise in the 800 block of 3rd Ave S.W. for a kitchen fire. The fire started in a unit on the 8th floor and caused the sprinkler system in that unit to deploy, resulting in the successful containment and extinguishment of the fire. A woman and child from that unit were evacuated. There were no injuries and the fire is currently under investigation.
