Calgary Fire Crews Respond To House Fire In Bridlewood

At approximately 1100 pm this evening, Calgary Fire Department (CFD) crews responded to reports of a house fire on Bridlemeadows Common SW.

Upon arrival, fire crews faced significant smoke and flame from a single family home. Firefighters quickly extended hand lines to control the main body of the fire as well as to protect neighboring exposures. An aerial ladder truck was utilized to provide a water tower to extinguish the remaining flames.

Impacted residents self-evacuated from the source home as well as on homes on either side before CFD’s arrival. CPS assisted with evacuations as well as provided traffic and crowd control at scene. Atco and Enmax were dispatched and ensured there were no hazards relating to services. AHS attended the incident but no injuries to civilians or emergency workers were reported.

The source home was significantly damaged and three occupants who are accounted for at this time will require alternate accommodations.

Fire crews including a fire investigator will remain on scene throughout the evening to ensure there is no fire extension and to confirm extinguishment.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
