Calgary fire crews get quick knockdown of Ogden house fire

Just after 7:30 this morning, a woman on her way to work noticed black smoke coming from the side of a residence at the 7800 block of Ogden Road South East. She immediately called 9-1-1. Due to the proximity of the neighbourhood fire station, fire crews were there within minutes. The building, a four-plex had smoke and flames showing but firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and limited damage to the suite of origin.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. It is not known if there was anybody inside at the time of the fire however a search by firefighters found nobody in any of the four units.Three of the attached units were vacant at the time of the fire. 

Traffic on Ogden road is being detoured by Calgary Police between 76 Avenue and 80 Avenue South East. Alternative routes are recommended.
