Calgary fire crews fight southwest garage fire

At approximately 2:10 Wednesday afternoon, 9-1-1 received multiple calls regarding a fire in the garage of a property at the 3000 block of 27 Street S.W. Smoke and flames were visible coming from the detached garage upon fire crews' arrival on scene

One adult male and a dog safely evacuated from the residence. The fire was brought under control and fire crews prevented fire damage to neighbouring residences. The fire caused significant damage to the structure and the vehicle within, as well as other contents inside the garage. The fire also caused some minor melting of the vinyl siding on the house located at the same addresss. Firefighters successfully prevented fire from breaching the interior of the house.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. A Calgary Fire Department fire investigator is on scene to determine the exact origin and cause of this fire.
