At approximately 3:30 this morning Calgary Fire crews responded to the northbound off ramp of Macleod Trail and Shawnessy Blvd SE. Crews arrived to find a car had impacted a light standard. Fire crews extricated a female in her 20’s from the car and transferred her care to waiting EMS crews. Two large street lights were hanging by wires from the light standard and crews had to constantly monitor the status of the lights as they presented a danger to the patient and rescue crews should they have fallen. Enmax was called in to deal with the hanging lights. One patient was involved in this collision, there were no other injuries at this incident.
