Calgary Fire Crews Extricate Two motorists from Three Vehicle Collision

Shortly before 9:00 P.M. this evening the Calgary Fire Department was called to the intersection of 52 street and 8 avenue S.E.for a motor vehicle collision. First arriving crews found three vehicles involved and two motorists in two separate vehicles that required extrication. Additional resources were requested and both motorists were extricated using hydraulic extrication equipment. The sole male occupant of a late model truck and the female passenger of a mini van were subsequently transported to an area hospital in serious condition.The intersection at 52 street and 8 avenue S.E. remains closed by the Calgary Police Service while they conduct their investigation.Motorists are urged to drive with caution as the late winter storm has made streets slippery.
