At approximately 8 this evening Calgary Fire Crews responded on an animal assist call in the 2500 block of Fish Creek Blvd SW. Crews were met by a gentleman that had just returned from a trip to India on Monday. It was explained that he started unpacking his luggage on Tuesday and Wednesday, tonight when he returned home from work he noticed a brown snake crawling on his carpet. The snake was about a half metre long and the fellow didn't recognise the type. He immediately called 911 and the Fire Department was dispatched. While crews searched the residence Fire Officials contacted an animal removal company specializing in snakes and had them join the search. After searching for more than 4 hours fire crews left the scene to the care of the Animal control Company. The Animal control company will continue the search and set traps for the reptile.
