Calgary fire crews battle double garage fire in Marlborough

At approximately 4:20 this afternoon, Calgary fire crews were called to the 3900 block of 14th Avenue N.E. for reports of a garage fire. On arrival, firefighters found a fully involved shed fire with flames spreading to the garages on either side.

Four people in total were evacuated. Fire crews quickly brought the fire under control however damage to the shed and two garages is extensive. Both homes on the property sustained heat damage to the outside rear of the residences. The radiant heat also caused the siding on two garages across the back alley to melt.

No injuries were reported as a result of this fire. Calgary Fire Department investigators and Calgary Police officers are on scene to investigate the origin and cause of this fire. It is not yet known if this fire has any connection to recent fires in the same neighbourhood.

If anyone has any information, pictures or video of the fire prior to CFD arrival on scene, please email piofire@calgary.ca
