Apartment Fire in Mission

Calgary Firefighters were called out this morning at 04:30 for a fire on the 2400 block of 1st. street sw.  The first arriving crew encountered heavy smoke and flame exiting a second floor balcony door. The firefighters entered the building from the ground floor and from an Aerial ladder to attack the fire. As crews were entering the building they found an adult male in the fire suite. He was aided from the building uninjured. The fire was quickly brought under control. Two of the ten suites in the building were occupied. Five people were evacuated without incident. Investigators are now on scene to find the cause of the fire.
