The City of Calgary shares Event Centre Agreements

The City of Calgary signed definitive agreements with the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation, Calgary Municipal Land Corporation and the Calgary Stampede on December 5 for the design and build of a new Event Centre in east Victoria Park.

The City made a commitment to Council and Calgarians to share Event Centre agreements signed by The City on behalf of Calgarians when finalized. We are proud to post highlights of these agreements, well as PDF texts of the major contracts, on a new agreements webpage and updated FAQ on Calgary.ca/eventcentre. These agreements define how the new Event Centre will be built, owned, and managed, as well as ensure that costs, obligations and benefits are well-defined.

The Event Centre and surrounding area will be a year-round, permanent gathering place for all Calgarians to enjoy programming and activities like concerts, assemblies, festivals and amateur and professional sporting events. It is an important part of putting Calgary back on a path for future growth and prosperity and will provide direct and indirect benefits to Calgarians.
