Special ballot (mail-in) packages sent for 2021 Municipal election

Special ballot (mail-in) packages for the 2021 General Election requested by voters are being sent the week of Sept. 27, 2021.

Eligible voters who are unable to vote during the Advance Vote (Oct. 4-Oct. 10), or on Election Day, Oct. 18, 2021 due to a physical disability, or those who are working, vacationing or studying away from their place of residence, as well as election or campaign workers may request a Special ballot (mail-in voting).

Follow the mail-in ballot instructions included in your ballot package to fill out the ballots.

A copy of your identification (ID) needs to be included with your completed mail-in ballot. Instructions on how to include the ID copy is in the mail-in ballot package.

You are required to provide a physical copy of your identification. A copy could be:

  • a printed photo of your ID,
  • a photocopy, or
  • other physical copy of your ID.

Special ballots must be received by the Elections Calgary office by Election Day, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. Return the ballot package:

  • by mail (see estimated delivery times below),
  • in person at the Elections Office, or
  • at a ballot drop box (see locations below). Ballot drop boxes are secure and monitored by security camera.
